It was incorporated on Betamax VCR"s which were included in Sony"s Profeel series of monitors and accessories. The concept of a single connector carrying Audio and Video was later to reappear in the SCART or Peritel standard. This unlike the Multi-connector was bi-directional.
The plug is usually wired with four individually screened cables. One for each signal, Audio L, Audio R, Video and CTR-S.
